Taxation of General Partnerships
Partnerships don’t pay off federal profit taxes. They’re counted “pass-thru” entities so the profit and losses from the operations of the partnership are reported on the partners’ individual profit tax returns. The partnership files an informational deliver enabling the government to trace whether the partners are precisely reporting their share of partnership profit or losses.
